How to convert a study break into productive break

Studies can be much extended sometimes and people need to take a study break. It is scientifically proven that a normal person cannot concentrate on studies beyond 90 minutes. Whether we are studying for test or exams or for our general knowledge, studying beyond 90 minutes is waste of time. So it is essential for a student to take breaks in your study sessions.

But now the question arises…..

What if we have so much work on our platter and we don’t want to leave studies? What will happen if I spend too much time on my break? Is there any way in which my study break can be turned into a productive break?

Well, the answer is simple. We should only try to do that stuff which helps us to create a better belongingness to our self and our environment.

  • Stretch

It is scientifically proven that stretching your body helps in rejuvenating and improves the blood circulation. Stretching for 10-20 minutes can help us to open up the mind and helps us in better understanding. You can do yoga and stretching both for better results.(stretching for reducing stress)

  • Change your study locations

Human has a tendency to respond to different situations differently. Changing the study location can help to memorize the stuff easily. We should totally avoid studying at the same place. Changing places can help you in retaining whatever you have studied in a better way. (best places to study)

  • Write post-it notes

When you take a break, you should try to recall all the knowledge you had grabbed. Try to revise in a break without looking at a book and the content. While during the break, you can write all the topics which you can’t remember, on post-it notes.Stick these notes on the wall opposite to your study table or on your desk so you have in mind what topics are in strict need to revise again.

  • Take a good bubble bath

After a good study session, a great bubble bath is just the need of the hour. Just turn on the hot water and relax in the bathtub. Think about the best things and do introspection.   • Take a power nap

Power naps are 15-20 minutes of naps. These power naps are perfect when your eyes are drop dead tired after a good study session. Just grab a cosy blanket and a good dark room. Set an alarm for 15-20 minutes and have a good nap. Even if you don’t sleep, your eyes will be blessed for a good time. You will yourself realize that this nap will increase your productivity after you wake up.

Go outside, have some fresh air, do some squats. Digging your eyes in papers and laptop can make you dull and dumb. It is scientifically proven that those who work out have higher productivity than who don’t. Going out while in study breaks opens up the mind and rejuvenates you for your next study session.

Everyone is creative in some or other way. People dance, paint, sing, do skateboarding while in breaks. This will help you to enjoy a little bit time you have and leaves you more motivated for next study session.

It is said that a healthy mind lives in a healthy body. And for a healthy body, we need to have healthy food. It is scientifically proven that brain food has properties to open up the brain and helps in better understanding. Try to eat green vegetables and dry fruits as much as possible. After all, a little healthy eating will do no harm to you. Try to mix and match and make interesting combinations of healthy food.
